Dear Sir/Meme,

I was looking for workflow solutions for our business (our business is
considered as prepress) what we do is (meet clients - study their RFQ - quote
- sign a contract - our team do the creative work using Adobe CS's Apps -
export to a final PDF - out-source the printing).

If we outsource the printing? how is JDF feasible for us to track, audit and
increase efficiency of our team.

Best Regards,

PrintTalk

Hi Samer,

for cross company communication PrintTalk would be te best way to achieve this. PrintTalk is an extension of JDF and also is designed by CIP4 (http://www.cip4.org/global/v3/index.php?content=/documents/printtalk/intro.php).

But unfortunately I don't know any printing house which provides such a interface. If you find one please let me know.

Best Regards,
Stefan

PrintTalk

PrintTalk is much more than just JDF; It also contains information for quoting, ordering and financial info, next to the JDF.

This makes it perfect for MIS to communicate between printing partners and customer systems.

However, there are currently not much MIS which support it. We are currently looking into it to incorperate it into our MIS and try to make it more useable. We are also trying to convince all the MIS suppliers in the Netherlands that PrintTalk is the way to go, so several MIS applications can exchange data between one and another.

This creates the possibility to do what you where asking for :)
